Feb 28th – “Georgia Delta Chapter sets record youth membership
drive” The Georgia chapter of Delta Waterfowl was invited to setup a conservation table during the Next Generation Sportsman Banquet. The Next Generations Sportsman Organization committed to sponsor the first 100 youth that came through the doors with a 1 yr membership to Delta Waterfowl. Not only did they have 100 youth come through the doors, but a grand total of 135 kids attend the banquet. This left our chapter raffling off a shotgun and rifle combo to cover the additional youth memberships to Delta. This has been the second NGS banquet we have attended and our chapter has now signed up a grand total of 192 youth as members to Delta Waterfowl. I want to thank David Purvis, chairman of NGS for his generosity in allowing our organization to help expose the young youth of today to our mission for the future of waterfowl and waterfowl hunting. Special thanks to my committee guys Charlie Baker, Jayson Gammell, Lee Chadwick and Keith Anthony for helping staff the banquet. Without dedicated volunteers like them work like this could never happen. |
